Clearview is a beautiful neighborhood on James Island full of nice older homes. It boasts pretty oak trees, spacious lots, and views of the water. Clearview home prices vary widely and appeal to buyers both young and old. Brick ranches start in the low to mid $200’s, while the most expensive houses overlooking the Charleston Harbor will be listed at $2 million or above. Most of the homes in Clearview were built from the 1960’s to the 1980’s, so you’ll find a good selection of floor plans with formal living and dining rooms. The majority of homes are brick, but you’ll also find some different types of siding including vinyl, wood, and hardy plank. You ay be pleased to hear that Clearview doesn't have an HOA (or an HOA fee), which is a nice surprise considering how well the homes in this neighborhood are maintained.
Clearview is one of only a few communities on JI that overlook the Charleston Harbor, downtown, and the new Ravenel Bridge. Located off Harborview Road, this neighborhood is about 10 minutes from downtown. It's also just 15 minutes from Folly Beach. Sunrise Park is within walking distance and features a picnic area, beach area, and fishing dock with floater located directly on the harbor. Clearview kids will head to Stiles Point Elementary School (top rated on the island), Fort Johnson Middle, and James Island Charter High School.
