It's The Super Bowl, Who Will You Root For?

Posted By Jimbo Thompson @ Feb 1st 2014 6:01pm In: Miscellaneous

The final NFL game of the season is coming up this Sunday and if the Denver Broncos or the Seattle Seahawks aren’t your primary team, then who are you going to root for? If you haven’t already decided then this can be a tough decision. Neither team is close to Charleston so you can’t really go with proximity here. Denver is in the AFC and Seattle is in the NFC so now you face the dilemma of picking a team that is in your real team's division or going with the other guys. On the other hand Denver has two rings and Seattle has none, so maybe you want to root for the team that doesn’t have a ring? If you like to watch a high powered offense that scores an average of around 38 points per game (best offense in the NFL), then Denver is your team. If you like to watch a stellar defense at work only allowing an average of around 14 points a game (best defense in the NFL), then Seattle is your team. If you are still undecided then lets look at some highlights from each team.

Denver - Brings the best quarterback (Peyton Manning) in the league and their high end offense also leads the league in scoring with 37.9ppg (next closest team was Philadelphia, scoring over 10 points less per game). They also broke the scoring record with 606 total points and broke the touchdown record with 76 this past year with help from the “Four Horsemen” of course. The Horsemen consist of WR Demaryius Thomas (14 TDs), TE Julius Thomas (12 TDs), WR Eric Decker (11 TDs), WS Wes Welker (10 TDs). Denver was also blessed with an outstanding running game led by RB Knowshon Moreno (13 TDs).

Seattle - Comes correct with their dominating secondary the  “Legion of Boom” defensive squad led by everyone's favorite Richard Sherman. Who can forget his instant classic post game interview with Erin Andrews!? In case you missed it you can watch the Shermanator’s interview here, instant classic! You can’t deny that the LOB is amongst the best when talking about defenses...all of the starters have either been in the Pro Bowl or All-Pro Team during their career. Their defense also had 44 sacks and 28 interceptions this year to add to their dominance.  Seattle’s offense isn’t too shabby either, they have over 5,400 total yards with 45 touchdowns this year with help of players like RB Marshawn Lynch, WR Golden Tate, WR Doug Baldwin and led by an outstanding 25 year old 3rd round 12th pick QB Russell Wilson.

*FUN FACT: Russell Wilson actually attended Peyton Manning's passing camp when he was a high school sophomore and Peyton was in the NFL,they have a 13 year age gap.
